The plan moving forward is that we will cover what the students are working on during their Genius Hour in the Den. But before we do that I want to take a look back at some of what we did this school year.
Backpack Carts
Each classroom was built a backpack cart. The students needed to replicate a current design. The main purpose of this activity was to teach the students how to measure, pre-drill, and screw boards together as well as create a materials list. The students were given the knowledge needed to use power tools as well as safety guidelines. Here is what they produced.

Ball Carts
The second project the students worked on was building 2 ball carts for our school. The students were given a design and rough measurements that they needed to transfer to PVC. They needed to cut, glue, check for square, and make sure everything fit. Here is what they created.

Personal Projects
The students were also given time to create and work on personal project that they wanted to create.

The coming school year the students will have many Design Challenges that thinking will be a must. Check back to see what the students are creating and solving.
